What You Can Expect: On-location means that you’ll get shots in your home, your favorite park, your swimming pool rather than having to pack up and travel to a studio. I can recommend locations for a shoot if you like. A session lasts 30 - 90 minutes. Children need time to relax and will look more more natural and comfortable once they have spent a little time with me. I’ll send you a link to a slideshow of your proofs within ten days of your session. You can expect about 20 - 30 proofs from a regular session. You can then order prints and more online.

Clothing Suggestions for Your Shoot: Please wear solid color clothing and avoid very bright colors such as hot pink or bright blue. Simple black or white clothing will yield the most timeless images though, of course, if your toddler wears her polka dot cowboy boots everywhere by all means have her wear them! You want to capture her as she is.

For maternity sessions simple black and white or jeans work very well. Men’s white button down shirts look very classic and many women like to take pictures in black lingerie. You can bare as much or as little as you are comfortable with.

Birthing Sessions Please let me know ahead of time (NOT on the day of your birth) how graphic you want the images to be. I can only schedule one birthing session per month.

Babies look great naked but make sure your house is warm enough that they will be comfortable without clothing. If you want naked shots remove the diaper a while before we start so elastic marks on their legs fade.

For Family sessions try to coordinate children and adults into similar outfits. Even something as simple as jeans and white shirts will unify the portrait.

For senior sessions bring several outfits. Some people like to dress up, others are more comfortable in jeans. It doesn’t matter as long as what you choose expresses who you are. Things that frame your face such as hats, hoods or scarves look great in close-ups. Some people find that they relax in front of the camera more quickly and have more fun if they bring a friend or girlfriend or boyfriend with them.
